Different times, the design were much simpler back than, just take a look at the helmets of Nikki Lauda, Jackie Stweart, Graham Hill, James Hunt and all the great drivers from the past. Don't get me wrong I also like some of the helmets from today, there are some beautiful designs, I just don't like that they are starting to get to packed with colors and details and getting hard to differentiate from each other, and also that some drivers keep changing helmets every race. Maybe i'm getting old but I liked racer that have their helmets as a trademark, you look at the helmet in a a car and you know immediately who it is

Yeah, only few drivers keep a semi-consistent design with their helmets now. Lewis Hamilton, for example, still uses a similar pattern throughout the redesigns. Honestly, I think that Michael Schumacher was the last driver to keep a fully-consistent pattern in his helmet, only making minor adjustments for the colour scheme.
