When I first heard about this contest and it's theme I really did not want to do a 'cliche'd' entry (yinyang, black/white, angels/demons, etc), so I spent days figuring out what ''good vs. evil'' really meant to me.

The only way I found to do so, was to imagine how do WE, average people, deal with what we consider good and what we consider to be evil, on a day-to-day basis.

I work with paint/brushes/etc everyday, so I couldnt find any other way to express it than with smudges and splatters. Somehow, it suits the theme, I believe.

And speaking about colors and paint, if you ask me, Im much more of a 'shades of gray' kind of person. Nothing is entirely white, and nothing is all black. To believe so is just naive, and I think it's better to accept both good things and bad about not just yourself and others, but also about all things in life.

For me, the only VERSUS between Good and Evil are us. We are the ones who decide to confront these two, and choose a side, instead of just accepting them as opposites and letting them compensate one another. White wouldn't be so without black, and black wouldnt exist without white.

So this is what this piece is all about. If you look closely, it can be read both ways, either:

'I'm the Yin to your Yang' or ' Im the Yang to your Yin'

That's what Im trying to get across here. We all need to find our balance somehow. Wether it is by finding our Yin if we have too much Yang or viceversa, only you can know.
