All these folk commenting about 'gators... I can only imagine you would not have been taking in the sights, snapping pics of birdies if there were alligators lurking.

lol... down here , it's common sense to always be aware...all fresh water is connected to the Everglades, so there is no such thing as a place you can be sure there are none... but gators aren't my biggest worry by the water, some common sense is usually enough..my fear is water moccassins ( poisonous snake, lives in all these lakes and canals)...and they are fairly aggressive... i don;t take a step in high grass near water without striking ahead first with a stick...and im constantly looking around if im by water's edge
