Amazons never surrender. This is what Rei Ayanami -- or "Theta Prince", depending -- believes in. She was born and grew up Amazon, engineered with the blood of their greatest warrior, and was adopted by Queen Diana when she Emerged. This is a code that is in her DNA as much as it is in her mind.There may be many ways to fight, to win in diplomacy and war, and she will have exhaled her last breath long before giving up on trying all of them.

In many ways, she is Diana's kid. Wonder Woman never gives up -- probably would like to talk first, can get pretty touchie-feely, depending on the writer, is pretty strategic and falling back to gather some advantage is an option, but flat-out "fuck this" give up? Hell, no.
It's even been used against her. Β The "Tower of Babel" arc (or the "JL: Doom" film) had a Batman plan of having her fight until she drove herself to a heart attack.
