Description This was one of a whole set of eight pictures( on different situations and moods about many characters from different titles, from humor to drama )I proposed for the Cartoon Activities for the last Book Fair - just like the other pictures I usually post here, when I propose a picture/situation to people create a story after it.

For that case, it would be merely be a drive to create a follow-up picture, as an exercise on the teaching contents I´d pass on the actual drawing( Cartoon )workshops.
The scenario would be the Book Fair( and our city landmarks )itself, so everyone could be familiarized with - for this case, the scenario would be a traditional teahouse/cafe, here.

...

So, people could chose their favorite sets, and propose a follow-up picture, given a certain storyline for each set of characters/mood/scenario´s "kit" they chosen...
What a pity ( out of the THOUSANDS of people the whole fair gathered, and though a whole yearś work of promoting and divulgating ) that absolutely nobody came into the workshops; so, those sets and their related pictures remained useless.

Would anyone here like to make the use I intended for them, if I uploaded those sets?
I can also add the links to images of the places they would be in, just for reference,
so it could also give an idea of the kind of places.
It would be my pleasure if anyone wished to join, at last.

Thank you very much^^

Olga is probably telling Miss Kean about Helga!

Olga seems quite upset about something. It could be a bit of bad news for her...or it could be the bill, and her money is in her other purse.

You create fantastic artwork, and I enjoy and thank you for all of it. However, I'm just not talented enough to do what you're asking. If I were, I'd do it right now!

But you are a writer, and a good one!
So I´d ask you about what you think is happening here on this pic( like... :
- Why two characters of two different cartoons are together( have they something in common, too )?
- What´s that paper( a letter, a memo, a document...whatever )? - - Why that seems to have affected Olga so much?
- lok at their clothing and hairstyles, does that suggest something? At east, the time of the year - and how it can be set for the overall idea of a story?

Actually,
What I wished to propose to people there was to make them give continuity to a certain prompt/idea( thus, those picture "starter" sets I mentioned ), and then, apply that idea on a further picture - however, it also could be applied for writing!

In fact, the true focus of the activity was to make people THINK on a further "story" - rather than to merely start drawing something randomly.

And so on - asking about the detaisl present on the picture, that can be interpreted in many and different ways by each person - so then, when anyone give me their "answer" to those questions, the process would continue - in the end, the outline or, even more, the construcetedd ide for setting a story would become true.

I used this method gfro years, in order to overcome people´s overly self-criticyzing( the well-known "I have no talent" argument )to make a point to themselves, making they SEE that they can figure a story, and that would be the grounds to the next phase, that would learn to TELL that story... but, I think tha you can agree with me that, without a well-constructed idea, any story can´t stand, ain´t that true?

Well, as you are a good storyteller yourself, and I know, people know it, I´d just wish to know what do you think would be happening here on this picture - so, if you want to join, please do, you would be most, most welcome!

Thank you^^

P.S. Yes, you do have to have a well constructed idea, or your story will not live up to its standards.

Why, thank you! If I have enough time, I can try to think of an idea for this story. Right now, what I know, they're both teachers. Obviously something is bothering the both of them. It could be something in the educational department etc. Anyway, that's a vague start, but we have to start somewhere, right? Let me think some more and tell me where to post! I might be a while since I don't come online as often as I used to. I love writing, and I'd love to write for you too!

It would be completely awesome!
Certainly I´d love to draw over that, too!

Well, As you supposed that the paper is something about the educational department, one can wonder if the content concerns to Olga´s work - and it could be nearly anything, since a teaching project of hers that was debased, to an appliance that wasn´t accepted... just wondering something.
Actually, teaching work must usually deal with SO MANY sluggishy blind and stupid bureaucracy( I can tell about that, sadly ); that´s frustrating, I can say, but it must be dealt with...

Though I think Olga isn´t quite used to it, while Keane does. Just wondering.

Or, eventyually, the paper could be referring about someone else - and, seeing how she is distressed about it, one can assume that this other person is rather important to her!

I´m using a different look for her, too( the hairstyle and the clothes are more "sober" ), and that could be another question, why?
Also, she´d be supposed to be some just years older... what makes one wonder what happened in the years inbetween: where she had been, and doing, and why she´s on an urban center again, as we kenew she was on Alaska...

But that´s a game, afterall - I certainly wold like, like so much if you joined, ansd most certainly would please on draw ficart for that, but, no need to hurry, I understand you can´t be online as often you did... but, as is a common saying here, "the best part of a party is to wait for it"!

^^

Take care,
and once again, many thanks!

I really like your ideas, Marcos. That sounds fantastic. Maybe Olga dresses in more of a mature manner because she is older and needs to look more professional. Maybe the paper is referring to an event that involved her parents or Helga? How does that sound? Who knows? I'm giving you a slew of suggestions. I hope they sound good.

Well,

She wore a similar clothing on "Student teacher", if I remember well( she just wasn´t with her hair tied up, neither was using a wool suit )... now, about the paper, maybe a letter from Helga?

Por isso mesmo eu tinha deixado em aberto - o papel poderia ser uma carta( ou qualquer outra coisa escrita ); eu queria que o pessoal imaginasse do que se tratava, deduzindo do que a figura mostrasse...

Bom, para ti, deve ser uma carta;
De quem seria, e do que se trataria, então?

Muito obrigado mesmo pelo insight e comentário!^^

Thank you very much for your appreciation!

Actually,
I made those sets and asociated them with a certain landmark - and, as all of those landmarks are near to the location where the Book fair happened, and as those landmarks were known by everyone( all of those are traditional ), I meant to give a "scenario" along with the mood and situations each set was done for - so, people could more easily propose a follow-up picture and, eventually, a story to get onward...

IMHO,
That would be a basis to implement people´s own creativity and self-confidence on their own further ideas; in fact, that is a didactical procedure I created and used to implement on the drawing( for manga, comics and cartoon styles )courses I once gave.

So, when I said "to make use" would mean, if any people here at DA would wish to do what was meant for those activities that I wished to do, by then - but, since nobody came to those workshops, and I had all the sets remained with no use, I wished to give those to people here, since I already had the response they were meant for - otherwise, those sets would remain useless, as I said.

So, if people want to join, the better - if not, they can still enjoy the pics...
