History: after the defection of the Incom design team to the Rebel Alliance the team began to seek ways to remain useful and relevant to the growing Rebellion. One of the means they found to do this was in brainstorming ideas for new starfighter designs. Seeing that the ubiquitous Y-wing bomber was increasingly outdated and outmatched by the Empire's starfighters the team set about designing a new bomber based upon the Alliance's now standard fighter the X-wing. The result was the T-77 X-wing Bomber or simply X-Bomber. The design took the basic principles of the X-wing and added two proton bomb launchers flanking the central fuselage. Drawing from the experience of the older ARC-170 starfighter the designers removed the four wingtip mounted laser cannons and placed two larger cannons closer to the hull, using the s-foils to keep the two large cannons cooled during combat. The X-Bomber proved itself in combat shortly after the Battle of Yavin, a squadron of them escorted by a force of elite ARC-170s hitting an Imperial supply convoy to the blockade at Yavin with great success. Pilots enjoyed the increased speed and maneuverability over the older Y-wing which was the standard bomber for the Alliance at that time and appreciated the increase in firepower over the X-wing and the craft was used continually throughout the Yavin blockade to harass and weaken the Empire's position before the Rebel Alliance was able to finally evacuate the base. Despite its successes the X-Bomber did have one major flaw: cost. It was half-again as expensive as a standard X-wing and almost double the price of a Y-wing. Much like the similar H-wing, the X-Bomber found itself being outperformed by cheaper and older fighters simply on a cost basis. With the arrival of the B-wing which brought with it far more vesatility at a comparable price tag the X-Bomber was never able to become the Alliance's principal assault fighter and with the Y-wing still holding strong as the primary bomber of the Alliance Starfighter Corps the X-Bomber was relegated to specialist roles in much the same way as the comparable H-wing had been. Those units that did receive the Alliance's limited production of X-Bombers spoke highly of them and developed deadly reputations in their use of the fighter. One thing in particular that the X-Bomber was praised for was the ability to use its ordnance launchers for other warheads other than the standard proton torpedoes thanks to its proton bomb armament. This meant that any given X-Bomber could carry mission specific warheads such as concussion missiles for anti-fighter purposes, or ion or mag pulse missiles to disable capture targets. Ultimately the X-Bomber was a success in the limited capacity in which it served and continued for a time with the New Republic until eventually being replaced by the far heavier K-wing Assault Fighter.

I imagine that the Incom team might have taken with them the designs forsome other Incom Projects, I wouldn't be surprised if they brought over the U-Wing design when they defected and maybe a few other designs that Incom may have been working on for the empire.
