Description One of my friends recently had a Celtic wedding where the Groom and Groomsmen were wearing kilts and vests. One of the things that made the Groom stand out from the rest was his fancy belt and sporran I made for him. There are several symbols in the knotwork including a bear, treble clef, even this knot pattern is significant.Β

Made from vegetable tanned leather, with nickel hardware and Tiger hand sewing thread.

Nice one! I'm really liking the double small buckle closure. Sweet sporran too! Cheers

Aye, there's the kilt belt I mentioned working on some time ago...

Ah right! I remember now. Fine job man! I still need to make myself one. I'm curious to know about the rectangle section on the "6 o clock" position on the belt. Is that just for a nice bit of detail? Looks cool to me...

it's there because I originally made the belt too small, so I sliced the back and inserted a spacer then covered the space with patch on front and back.

Good job! It looks like it's supposed to be there.

Using snaps to attach the sporran chain to the front of the belt is genius!Β  I've seen other methods of eliminating the sporran chain/belt, but this is probably the best I've seen.

Actually, the dee rings are riveted on and one side is permanently secured to the belt, the other side has one of theseΒ 0.s3.envato.com/files/104867.j… to get the belt on and off.
For snap on sporran chains, you would have to place the snaps in such a way to prevent it from popping off if you do any kind of vigorous movement

Beautifuly done as usual! Say I am part of the CNHS (Celtic Norse Herritage Society) and even though I have some Celtic in me I don't sport a tartan. I would however like to wear a kilt as most do in the society but give it more of a Norse flare. This "work Kilt" seems like it would work well do you know were it came from or were you can get patterns for it?
