Today. 25 years ago. On the 9th of September, 1998. Spyro The Dragon was released for the Sony Playstation.
The succes of Spyro made the purple dragon a fan favourite for the Playstation. A sequal to Spyro the Dragon was released a year later in 1999 Named Ripto's range, Also recieving critical acclaim. Following up in 2000 with Year Of The Dragon. The last game in the original Spyro games devolped by Insomniac Games.

From that point on. The Spyro franchise went a rollercoaster of utterly bad games, Like Enter The Dragonfly. Released in 2002. It is so broken people can beat the game in 1:10. No thats not one hour and then minutes.
Thats one minute and 10 seconds. ( I am not making this up )
to rather surprising decent games like A Hero's tail.

In 2006 the Spyro Franchise got a reboot as The Legend Of Spyro.
The reboot consists of three games in total.
- A New Beginning ( 2006 )
- The Eternal Night (2007 )
- Dawn of the Dragon ( 2008 )
The Legend series recieved okay to mediocre scores by critics.

After the Legend Series Spyro laid dormant for 10 years.
THERE IS DEFININTELY NO OTHER GAMES WITH SPYRO'S NAME AND IMAGE SLAPPED ONTO IT TO MAKE A QUICK BUCK BY ACTIVISION BETWEEN 2008 AND 2018. NO I'M NOT UPSET.

In 2018 Spyro's legacy was restored with the realease of Spyro Reignited Triology. The first three Spyro games made from the ground up and giving Spyro a new era and generation to entertain.
