Ehh, the ending was scary but in the collection, Mike just falls out of a tree and wakes up a few seconds later (I guess he dreamed the whole game in 5 seconds then woke up).

In a way, I kinda prefer the horrifying car crash ending because it made a bigger impression xD (especially since it seems like 5th Cell only makes Scribblenauts games now.... the tree ending would be preferable if they were going to make a DtL 3)

I kinda wonder if the developers hated making DtL games so much that they decided to kill the franchise off for good... especially considering all they've made since is Scribblenauts stuff.

Yea....I'm sad about that. Drawn To Life was much more fun than Scribblenauts. Don't get me wrong, Scribblenauts IS a good game, but I preferred Drawn to Life, before they tossed it in the trash can.

When I beat the game I was like "That's it? They all just die at the end?! IF I AM SUPPOSED TO BE SAVING THE WORLD THEN DOESN'T THIS ENDING DEFEAT THE ENTIRE PURPOSE OF THE GAME?!" ANd then I smashed my head against my desk a few times before crying myself to sleep xD I get very emotional over my games!

i got an alternative ending. i beat the game a couple times with different choices in the beginning to try to get the car crash ending but i only get the ending where mike falls out of a tree.

I watched that tree one on youtube and it looks slightly more pleasant than the car one... at least the drawings were more cartoony. The car one was just dark, especially how the injuries reflect Mike's missing nose and Heather's half shadow face...
It must either be due to the way you answer the questions or it could be built into the cartridge, with certain cartridges having certain endings...

The only way you can get the "Falling out of a tree" ending is by buying the Drawn to Life collection, which features an exclusive ending to DTL:TNC. If you buy DTL:TNC alone (New), you get the ending where Mike's parents die and he falls into a coma. That's the only way. If you buy the game used, chances are it's either ending, you'll just have to beat it to find out.

Yeah it was a bummer to see that ending. My first reaction was, "...What just happened?" I'm guessing that the one girl with half of her face covered in bandages is Heather. I thin Wilfre pushed the car over and injured Heather. No wonder she ha darkness on one side of her face. Oh, well, it's just a thought...

Yeah, the humans are supposed to be Mike and Heather (hence Heather's bandaged face and Mike's missing nose), but it doesn't make sense in relation to the first game. Wilfre either represents death or the car that hit them or something, I dunno

I never thought about Mike's missing nose. You have a point. I was positive Heather had something to do with it, but I couldn't figure out what Mike had to with the whole thing. In other words, I agree with you.

when i finished the game i didn't know what happend cause i thought that the hands of the people where heather and mike but i was wrong....................................when i found out from you i went on youtube to see if it was true and it was soo i whatched the ending agien and when i saw te parents dead i cried!!!! but lukly no one was up in my parents room to see me cry.......................................*SOB*.......................................................................

I know right? when I found out the truth I was like screw this, let Wilfre win! also, that begs the question why the creator let that ophra mayor live saying she still had stuff to do when they all die anyway? this game's ending was even more depressing to me than Link's Awakening.

That has got to be the most depressing, mismatched-toned ending I have ever seen!
Is it true that there's an alternate ending you can get if you go back to the beginning of the game and answer the questions correctly? I've seen a similar plot device in the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games, but the questions were unrelated to the action, and you couldn't change the ending, anyway.

No, the other ending is in later versions of the game. They changed it due to ratings complaints.

I haven't heard of anything; haven't wanted to restart my file since it only lets you do one and it has all my character designs in it. It'd be interesting if there was, but I think we'd have heard by now (there was a rumor planted in the first game though that by finding the "secret flower" in Wilfre's lair you could revive the mayor. Though what it is was when you go inside the wishing well you talk to the game's staff, and director Jeremy Slazca tells you about the flower but says "Or is there really one?" and the story writer tells you not to believe Jeremy, and I've looked but it's not there). So I'm guessing that's the only ending... oh well. The plot events lead up to it too, though it was still jarring when it came.
Only way I could see them continuing from here is if Mike grew up and made a game with his imaginary friends, so DTL3 would be a game within a game.
(As for depressing endings, a couple of the endings to Star Fox Command made me cry (in frustration, not from being sentimental), and there'll be a comic on that going up pretty soon)
