These were done with the intention of experimenting with a style closer to Kubo Tite's. And then I decided to play with shading.And yes, I was looking at various manga pictures for reference. So, I suppose I can't call these entirely my own. (Except for the Fourth, on the right, becasue that was my attemtp to "try it myself" after practice.)
But then, I never owned bleach to begin with! ^_^ However, nothing is a direct copy of something. I used the reference to get the shape of his face and eyes and hair right. (C'mon, you do it too...admit it ^_^)
I have such trouble with making people face to the right. Hence why that one sucks. But I need to practice it if i'm going to get better.

And I personally think there's nothing wrong with using ref pics, but that's probably because I can't draw without them. Still, if you want to keep close to someone's still, well you have to use ref pics!
And someone pointed out a while ago that I too seem to make most characters look to the left. I've checked my gallery since then and it's quite scary

I think i mentioned using the ref pics, because I feel like a lot of people would say "Hey, you totaly copied that!" or "This doesn't look like your stuff" and be all angry for no reason. But hey, I'm not making any money here. I'm just trying to become a better artist by seeing what better artists have done!
So you're right, there really is nothing wrong with it, It was more just to cover my butt against people who would be offended that I didn't do the whole thing from my memory
Oh, and are you right handed? I think the left/right facing pictures have to do with what hand I am. My right hand wants to make lines arching out to the left, and is bad at that in reverse. I'm trying to train myself so that I feel comfortable doing both.
