Description

This is a portait of Claudius I (10 BC - 54, AC)  who was the fourth emperor of Rome.

Claudius is considered by many one of the greates emperors or Rome since during his regine he conquered Britain and made many social improvements toward slaves and  poor people. He was loved by the pleb and most of  modern historians have a good perspective of him. Sadly most of his life was a combinanion of  humillation, hardships and political conspiracies.

Since Claudius was kid  was afflicted with a limp and other health defects (probably as result of cerebral palsy). His whole family considered him an idiot, and thinked that  he wasn’t appropiate to be involved in politics. They could not be more wrong Claudius deffects saved him from the conspiracies that killed most of his family (including his brother and many of his clostest friends).

Afther Caligula’s mudder the paetorian guard decrared Claudius emperor, despite of his defects and his lack of experience. His regime was prospere and peacefull althoug Claudius marital life was a total disaster: when claudius went to Britain his wife Messalina cheated Claudius whit many of her lovers (more than 70 according to some ancient resources) , she and her favorite nearly kill Claudius and took over the empier. Thankfully one of claudius servans informed him abouth the conspiracy and ordered the execution of the traitors involved. Aftehr that claudius married to Aggripina minor, who had already a children of anther marriage that will be the emperor Nero. So when they where in the middle of a dinner Agrippina poisoned Claudius whit the inteniton of leaving his son in the power. Sadly his plan resulted and Claudius died of poisoning at the age of 64 years, reminded as a efficient and wise emperor.

This is really cool I love his eyes. Wasn't  he poisoned by his 4th wife?

Yes, Agrippina Minor killed him. Although later her own son did the same to her.

If I may provide constructive criticism, his eyes look a little too big here. Also, his white hair reminds me of most depictions I've seen of Julius Caesar.

Thanks!
I really appreciate the critiques
Julius Caesar??? It wasn't intentioned to make him look like him, but now that you mention, it looks similar to the Axterix's Caesar xD
