Description Main story and stuff here: mareliini.deviantart.com/galle…

for four days I've done nothing else but my stupid spirou et fantasio power-point (I have this thing where I do an informative and totally not just fangirling meta power-point from every fandom I've had. It's fun but I never finish anything there's too much to talk about I fucking love my senpais ;__; ) and then I suddenly got the urge to dRAW YEESS

yeah this is part of HiS. It's again this normally "do what the fuck you want" way to tell stories but I want to experiment more with different types of telling (since I started the story in the middle oh god). And also different point of viewpoints like there'll probably be a chapter from every characters pov. And also the timeline is a mess and I haven't really introduced Agasa (and yes that dog is called John we've came the full circle god bless) yet but it should be happening fairly soon like I've sketched all pages already ;__;

But in the story's timeline this is happening maybe a month after Shinichi started to live with Mouri's (or Kisaki's or whatever those are idk). You can sorta measure the time from the hair length idk at least I use it.

I really like what you have done with the story so far. It's also a very good way to tell stories by starting in the middle. It's also know as "en medias res"

Thank you!
And oh, I didn't know that : D. I've never tried this kind of storytelling so it's a bit scary.

I understand. It just takes practice.
i've never done it either, I'm just some nerdy kid who spends all her time analyzing stories hahahaah.
but anyway, if you want to know different strategies for writing and visual direction, novels and tv shows are a great place to start.
the site called tvtropes.org is a great way to discover tropes, just be conscious of how you use them

mmhh I know. I could add different comics too, since those are how I mostly learned how to do stuff. Tho I'm a bit terrified of tvtropes, every time I go there time flies really fast and I don't know what day it is anymore.

Hahaha I feel.
I've started setting timers because I end up forgetting about school work. But yeah, I prefer graphic novels to American comic books, and really anything with a long continuous story that isn't episodic helps with what your going for. Since it's especially focusing on dreams, I can recommend a few outer panel designs that make it easy to tell what is going on.

I have the feeling you forget to add the name or something?

I've grown up with eurocomics and donald duck which is mostly drawn in Italy. I've tried to read a bit of american comics, but it's too hard for me to find any sense there since I don't know the history.

Yeah sorry about that I can get spacey.
"Go Get a Roomie!" While a bit mature, handles the dream sequences really well, while I don't quite remember all the details, using grainy textures, or maybe just changing the color pallets can make a huge difference towards the tone of the sequence. This goes the same for flashbacks- you can have the page itself be entirely black or give all the panels this unique border using something like cross-hatching or stippling, or even do the just change the color pallet a bit, so the ready can tell what's happening. These are just ideas though. Do whatever you feel is right. I think ChaosLife or FindChaos did this color pallets theme, but I can't remember which is which. They are both by the same author.

I'm a bit confused tho, why are you telling me this? Your tips are useful but really general in comic world and I've known those since I was ten. I guess everyone does if they've read even a little bit of different comics. Do you personally feel there's something wrong in the way I tell stories in which case I'd like to hear that or do you just want to tell me well-known facts of comic making??

The second one, I suppose. I love your comics. I'm just talking about the different strategies.
I don't mean to offend, if for any reason I did.

Haha, I understand.
im never very good at written communication, so most of my messages seem haphazard at best.
