“What are you so honestly shocked about? Our leader sticks his head in the sand all the time, it’s nothing new.”
Aside from the split-second perfect timing, there’s really something else to enjoy from this shot. As BricksandStones so concisely put it, it’s pretty clear as to how much character each ostrich seems to express, what with the two end ones having mouths agape at something so shocking, while the other just doesn’t look impressed. And in a strange kind of way, the way it seemed to look directly at the camera, as if to ask whether we can see something it cannot, added even more to the shot.
Technically, it’s solid. There’s good focusing and lighting, and not really much else one should expect. As far as vision and impact goes, that’s where I get the most enjoyment out of this photo. Nothing else to add except a brilliant piece of shooting and hopefully I’ll see more from you in future.

One what? One that does not go along with the others? No matter, I love this photograph! Where did you take this photograph?

Yes, one that doesn't go with the flow. I took it not too far from my house. Here is quite a few farmers farming with ostriches.

Thank you for answering my question. Outside of our Oklahoma City Zoo, I have seen only one ostrich. It was on a farm in eastern Oklahoma. I have however, seen several llamas and alpacas. Once I even saw a giraffe on a farm near the Oklahoma-Texas border on Interstate #40, but it is no longer there. Every time we go to Albuquerque, New Mexico I look for that giraffe. Perhaps that farm was sold, and the new owners did not want to take on the responsibility of looking after a giraffe. There is even a barn on that farm with an extra high roof to accommodate a giraffe. I hope the owners found a good home for it with a responsible caretaker. if they no longer wanted to keep it.

There is a game farm not too far from where I live and they have giraffes. If we're lucky we sometimes see them close to the road. I love giraffes.
