This is adorable, Alykaas looks so suave, like they're giving the viewer the side eye while asking them on a date. They're so cute and looks so soft. This really is just a gentle piece all around with a hint of playfulness to it. I love the use of multiple shades of the same color to add texture and detail to the fluff of Alykaas. And as always, your plant life reads super well! I may need to ask you how you do plants because they're so good!

Awww Jade! Thank you so much <3 I love reading about how you interpret these expressions - it brings me a lot of joy.
Regarding plants - I tend to look at a few different reference images for each plant, just to get an idea of the shapes of the flowers/leaves at different stages or from different angles. I usually end up simplifying the colors somewhat just based on what I have to work with for markers, but a lot of digital artists I like do this too - I think exaggerating the greens or adding in blue and yellow often gives greenery a little more "life" in 2D.
The other thing I try to remember to do (though I don't always succeed) is to keep the sizes varied, and to avoid too much symmetry, so they look sort of flowy and organic.

Okay! Thanks so much for the tips! I definitely think the size variety is a good thing to remember, I think I try to make things too symmetrical and that just isn't accurate to actual plants. I'm really stoked to try and draw more plants now
