Spoilers for Bleach chapter 345. Although it's already too late if you decided to click on this picture. Still, I should warn you guys that the following comments contain spoilers from this chapter as well.Thanks to recent chapters, I've been inspired to sketch Ulquiorra many, many times in my school diary. Then I thought that this would look good properly drawn. And then something in me decided not to let me go until I'd finished drawing it. So here it is.
As you can see, this is Ulquiorra after releasing Murcielago, looking rather beaten up. Don't get me wrong, Ulquiorra's one of my favourite characters in the series, but I've always wondered what he looks like in a vulnerable state. Then Kubo showed his resurreccion, and something just clicked in my head. He really does look like a fallen angel in his released form.
I'm actually really happy with this picture. The only thing I'm not completely happy with is the hill that Ulquiorra's standing on (sand patterns = hell) but even then I can easily ignore that because it's barely visible. Even the foreshortening of the left arm turned out really nicely, and I normally fail at perspective. And the colour editing done on the computer went well too.
This was done with my trusty 12-pack Faber-Castell pencils. Probably took about 7-10 hours in total, minus distractions of course.
I do not own Bleach. Only Tite Kubo can say he owns it.

Thank you! Yeah, I hope Kubo does his backstory like he did with Grimmjow. I mean, his tear marks even widen in his released form. Perhaps he lost someone close to him in a past life? Or maybe he was a good person who lost his way and was never able to redeem himself before he died?

yeah i think that he will do the same thing that he did with grimmjow. and i think that it would be more like the first one because he always talks about how he dosnt know love, happiness, or any other emotion.....

Ichigo will do something magic (like always T_T) and some how get something that's strong enough to actually hurt ulqui and Orihime will save him or something.....and then.... like she saw that hes not all that bad or whatever.....

Same here! *high-five* Unfortunately, since Ichigo's the hero, he has to be able to pull through anything at least until the end... but I really hope Ulquiorra survives the whole ordeal... I think he's the most likely of the Espada to rebel after Grimmjow because of the whole hearts thing. Exactly, he's not really evil, he just happens to be loyal to Aizen (and even that's understandable because of the powers he was given when he was turned into an Arrancar).

*accepts you high five XD* yeah same here.... sometimes i feel like kubo wont kill him off because of that and how much people like him.....and i no that much.... i dont under stand what gives these people the right to mess with hollows like that.... i mean...if aizen wasnt planing any thing i mean..... but they dont hurt people....really.... and when other hollows do its just their way of life.... like animals eating other animals..... thats how i see it...

Yeah. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen an interview with Kubo about Ulquiorra before. Hopefully we'll see one later on. Well, they eat people's souls, and once you're eaten, you won't go to Soul Society or Hell, you're gone forever. Plus, back in the first Bleach arc, you know that the reason why they fight Hollows in the first place is because they don't really kill Hollows, they just purify them, since they were once human. But when Hollows become Menos/Arrancar, no one really knows what happens to them when they die, since Menos are thousands of Hollows squished into one. It's interesting to think about.

yeah i havnt seen one either....i really think that one should be coming soon tho.... and yes i know that..... and i really hope that the same thing happens when you kill an arrancar.... that way, if ichigo did kill grimmjow and is going to kill ulquiorra, then they will come back later on XD

Yeah. Even then, Lelouch won in a sense because he planned everything out, even his death. That's one of the main differences between Death Note and Code Geass, I think. Light was brilliant but went a little mad in the end, and Lelouch had an insane plan, but never went mad in that sense. And not even Aizen knows about it! If he had seen it before, would the power boost have been enough for him to become the Primera, or do Stark, Barragan *hiss* and Halibel still have certain qualities that make them stronger than Ulquiorra?

or maybe (this is my theory) the espada are only based on their strength when there in their first regular stage or even their first release.... but what if (since aizen has not seen it yet) he dosnt know how much stronger he can get and he is really the strongest out of all of them in this stage?
well i dont think that ulquiorra would let something like that happen again..... i dont think hes stupid XD...... XD yeah..... maybe she will be like " you no what? Fuck this! im tired of having to save your ass all the time and you still dont love me after!!!" then Ulquiorra and Orihime can be together and all is well in the world of bleach........ yes they leave the other crap undone but who really cares???? Probably their first (and in all cases except one, only) release form and the abilities that come with them is used for ranks. After all, Aaroniero is the only Gillian-based Espada from what I remember, and he's still ranked higher than Yammy because of what his released form is capable of.

I kept wanting to yell at her, "Stare at Ulquiorra in all his lean muscular glory!" Interesting how he owns Ichigo and then Ishida (poor Ishida... T_T) without so much as blinking, but has no intention of hurting Orihime in the slightest... (it's all in the subtext!) Hollow Ichigo joining the battle will be interesting, though. I really want it to get to the point where Hichigo goes to attack Orihime since he doesn't really "know" her, only to be stopped by Ulquiorra. That would be like a dream come true for me...

Not necessarily... maybe it'll get to the point where Ulquiorra is healed by Orihime because she doesn't want to see her protector hurt! Use your fangirling abilities to twist and interpret what goes on! It makes it easier to tolerate
Besides, Ulquiorra can't die now. Kubo has been building up his character for so long that there'd be hell to pay if he just kills him off. We still need to see some backstory. And at this point, Ulquiorra really does deserve some redemption.

Ah, I see. Yeah, I'm mostly pretty neutral about everything, but leaning more towards optimism. Still, Kubo can't really afford to have a massive horde of angry fans after him after what's happened. Especially when we still know so little of Ulquiorra.
