Description This is a revamp of my old family tree, with this one notably including the kongs from DK jungle beat. I KNOW THEY ARE NEVER MENTIONED AGAIN. However, I feel like they fit where I placed them for two reasons:

1. They aren't inherently evil. In the ending scene of Jungle Beat, all boss kongs are seen celebrating with DK and the helper monkeys, rather than mourning the cactus king, who is notably absent. According to the developers, Jungle Beat is about DK becoming the King of the Jungle, perhaps the celebration in the ending is the boss kongs accepting him as the one true king, after being influenced by the magic of the Cactus King. If Chunky, Kiddy, Dixie, and Tiny are related to the boss kongs, them accepting DK as ruler would set up the other DK games where we meet the friends of DK.

2. The lineage I've chosen for them carries through some important characteristics. Sumo Kong is a large imposing ape wearing pants, something he is alone in except for Karate Kong. Chunky and Kiddy are also large primates, or at least shapes up to be, and both wear clothes. Coincidence? I THINK NOT! (No, that's really just a coincidence) Maybe they have inherited this from said boss kong? Dixie and Tiny are both heavy users of their hair, and since they are known to be cousins of Chunky and Kiddy, the best fit for their father is without a doubt the kong named for his hair: Dread Kong. It works for me. Roll with it.

DK III has had brothers added in this version, with Funky Kong as Diddy's father. Funky calls himself a "monkey" on several occasions, rather than an "ape", and he supposedly also had a tail which was blown off, so that's why he's placed there: Diddy's an ape, so is he, and he looks like DK. Swanky is also a brother to DK, also due to his similar visage.

Bink from Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga is also placed here as the ancestor to Cranky's family. It is however unknown how old he is at the time of the plumbers meeting him...

Finally, Lanky Kong, clearly an orangutan, is probably related to the Manky Kongs. Presumably, after the events of the original DKC games, when the Manky Kongs are defeated, the tension between the two species loosen, and Lanky can thus join DK for adventures. Also, nothing is ever black and white. There has to be "good" Manky Kongs too...

i do indeed mean to make this anew. Mainly, it will include the members we've talked about. I know of the Baby DK -> DK jr -> modern DK, but even if you go with Mario = Jumpman, I find it unlikely that the time gaps you make up for an adult modern DK. The dopplegangers seen in the audience of MK is to me just a fact that the kongs are a more wide spread fact than one might initially think.

Oookay, so have I got this right:

Donkey Kong (arcade) - ft Cranky
Donkey Kong Jr (arcade) - ft Cranky's son (DKjr)
Yoshi's Island DS - ft Cranky's Grandson (DKIII)
Super Mario Kart - ft DKjr as the adult kong, with clothed kong in fact being DKIII in younger years?
Mario Tennis 64 - ft same as in SMK?

If so, it could make sense, but seems more convoluted than necessary... IDK.

I had similar thoughts a while back, with the tank top being a staple among young kong. It might be that Diddy/Dixie/Tiny/Kiddy isn't old enough to wear it, or that it is a statement made to stand out a bit more. I do not however think all Dkjr's in the audience need to be linked to the main kongs. There is not really a lot to go on, and it'd be like connecting my family with yours IRL: if we go back far enough we are probably related, but just because we are the same species it doesn't mean the family split is found just two-three generations back.

My dude, I don't keep grudges. We're cool, let's focus on the future instead.

I had heard of him, but still had to look him up. Turns out he's one of eleven gorillas in Animal Crossing. I'd very much like to hear what you have in mind.
