Description
This is actually an illustration I've made for my story called "The Treasures of Eshnunna". The action takes place in the ancient Middle East, mostly in Babylonia and Elam, in the 13th Century BC. Eshnunna is a flourishing Babylonian city (preserved till nowadays in the mound of Tell Asmar), and these kids are the children of its ruler. So they are noble Babylonians of Kassite origin. Unfortunately, during the Elamite invasion of Mesopotamia they happened to be among the citizens captured by Elamite warriors. The idea behind the artwork is to show the bonds between kids and the tenderness with which the boy takes care of his younger sister trying to protect her from any hardships.
