Description I have some great patrons who support me on my Patreon. One of them asked me to draw Maneki - Neko. He did not specified what exactly he have in mind, so I got only two words of description to work with.

And I found one legend about Maneki-Neko and decided to illustrate it.

One time there was a taju (very high class courtesan) named Usugomo. She was very fond os cats and had a  lot of them. One night her favourite cat clung into her kimono. The guardian came running to that noise and cutted off the cat's head.
What a bastard, huh?
The severed head flew to the ceiling, where it clung with its teeth and killed the snake, saving the life of its owner. The lady was very sad for her cat — and one day, to calm her sadness, one of the guests gave her a statue of a cat, which became the prototype of Maneki - Neko.
