MariaForHisGlory In reply to rakhtaviz [2011-04-06 15:01:30 +0000 UTC]

Well, this view is very ordinary. I mean all the tourist booklet about Jerusalem have that kind of the picture. But still I wanted to have my own

MariaForHisGlory In reply to bensalamin [2011-04-06 14:50:05 +0000 UTC]

Really? I thought it was a most usual tourist attraction. A saw lots of pictures with the same camel in tourist books.

maybe.. just all the times I was there, never saw any camel

Don't bother, that's not the most interesting thing to see there

I know but, what's the most, how do you think?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MariaForHisGlory In reply to bensalamin [2011-04-06 15:14:16 +0000 UTC]

To me it's just walking along the streets of the old city. They are very vivid and have their unique atmosphere. Going into stranh=ge old shops and markets and seeing strange people all around.

you know, for me too. Have you ever tried to go to one of the Juresalem's roofs and look out there? but I think the best view is from David's tower.
and I myself like Jerusalem most in winter, during the Chanukah, when it's filled with a lot of candles..

I've been to Jerusalem 2 times only, in February and in October, But I wish to go there again and stay in the city for some dyas because last time I lived with my i=uncle not far from Tel Aviv and had no opportunity to spend a lot of time in Jerusalem itself. But we were travelling across the country in a car so it was fun too.

yup, I believe times ago it was fun for me too..
I live currently near Tel Aviv, but wanna move out of there.

Yeah, I guess the country is so small that crossing it once is quiet enough

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

bensalamin In reply to MariaForHisGlory [2011-04-06 15:33:09 +0000 UTC]

crossing - maybe. visiting - absolutely no
but there are so many interesting places is each country of this world..
me myself loving Europe much more. maybe it's because I didn't live there (yet)

Were you born in Israel?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

bensalamin In reply to MariaForHisGlory [2011-04-06 15:38:33 +0000 UTC]

nope. in Russia, suddenly

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MariaForHisGlory In reply to bensalamin [2011-04-06 15:50:49 +0000 UTC]

Oh nice! Than why are we writing in English and not in Russian or at least Hebrew?!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

bensalamin In reply to MariaForHisGlory [2011-04-06 16:59:53 +0000 UTC]

hmm, you can speak hebrew?
just once I got to this site I decided to speak only english.. but I can try russian if you want

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MariaForHisGlory In reply to bensalamin [2011-04-06 17:07:25 +0000 UTC]

Well, I've been learning hebrew for 7 years by now but my keyboard doesn't have hebrew letters so it will be too slow for me to type
No, English is alright. I'm an English-Russian interpreter so that will be a good practice

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

bensalamin In reply to MariaForHisGlory [2011-04-06 17:10:26 +0000 UTC]

aha, okay practice? with me? you're kidding I've never learned english.. can you believe?
regarding hebrew - yup, it's better not to write in it at all than write in transliteration. hebrew transliterated to latin is awful (my opinion).. though transliterated russian is less awful.
so, you live in Russia. in which city?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MariaForHisGlory In reply to bensalamin [2011-04-06 17:15:13 +0000 UTC]

In Saratov. That's on the Volgs river.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

bensalamin In reply to MariaForHisGlory [2011-04-06 17:16:52 +0000 UTC]

not so far away from where I lived.. in Rostov-on-Don.
are you happy living in Russia?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MariaForHisGlory In reply to bensalamin [2011-04-06 17:19:24 +0000 UTC]

I'm happy in general. Living in Russia doesn't spoil the fact Actually I love my country. People, language, culture and sense of humour. I believe that God had a plan when He put me here so I'll move only if He moves me
How come you live in Israel now?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

bensalamin In reply to MariaForHisGlory [2011-04-06 17:27:09 +0000 UTC]

regarding the sense of humor I can understand you
it's interesting how the God can move you now? what should He do?
and about me.. it's a loooooong looooong story started 10 years ago.. and ended about 6 years ago, when I moved here. someday I'll tell you it all, but now I have to go for some hours, maybe shall return tomorrow
and you, why had you learned hebrew, for which purpose?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MariaForHisGlory In reply to bensalamin [2011-04-06 17:34:17 +0000 UTC]

I am Christian, I believe that God has a plan for my life and He is showing me the way if I listen to His voice carefully by praying and reading the Bible. Maybe someday I'll become a missionary in some distant land and an interpreter of the Bible. I'm ready to do that for Him.
I started learning Hebrew just because I like learning languages and I have a family friend who is a teacher of hebrew. besides it my grandfather is a jew. I got interested in Jewish culture. Then I became a Christian and I went on learning Hebrew because I wanted to read the Old Testament in original. After all I visited Israel twicу and fell in love with the country. And I love the language too, it's so wisw and so close to Christian religion that I'm learning much from learning it. Well, enough reasons I think

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

bensalamin In reply to MariaForHisGlory [2011-04-06 20:34:21 +0000 UTC]

so, I'm similar to you in some aspects. I like languages too.. but last time I like more european languages, such as magyar (hungarian), romanian, lithuanian, cymraeg (welsh), sweden. trying to learn them all also trying to remember turkish - next week I'm going to Turkey..

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MariaForHisGlory In reply to bensalamin [2011-04-07 08:31:44 +0000 UTC]

WOW! Can you speak all these languages?! Mine are only English, Hebrew and French... But I'm dreaming to learn Spanish.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

bensalamin In reply to MariaForHisGlory [2011-04-07 09:19:05 +0000 UTC]

nope, actually I can speak only russian, hebrew and english. but somehow I can understand hungarian and lithuanian too. regarding the rest of the languages I started to learn, such as german, turkish, romanian, norwegian, swedish, czech, arabic - I haven't enough knowledge of them to say I can understand them but apparently, I can understand them with a dictionary.. times ago I also tried to learn japanese, chinese, vietnamese, hindi, etc. many of the languages I've been interested in. and though I almost can't understand them even with a dictionary, I got some profit: I can read/write hindu letters and sentences, japanese katakana/hiragana, easily write an arabic script, and so.. don't know if it's applicable in my life.

MariaForHisGlory In reply to bensalamin [2011-04-07 10:13:34 +0000 UTC]

That's the problem with learning anything and languages in particular - you styart but easily give up. One has to have a strong will to keep on learning. In my case it's playing the guitar... I tried to start learning several times and I'm still dreaming of playing it but don't have enough will to make myself do it...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

bensalamin In reply to MariaForHisGlory [2011-04-07 10:19:33 +0000 UTC]

I didn't say I gave it up.. there's another issue: I like so many languages that choosing a preferred one to learn is a huge problem. that causes me to switch from one to another, and some languages stays unfinished yet. but I know one day I'll finish them all

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MariaForHisGlory In reply to bensalamin [2011-04-07 10:48:16 +0000 UTC]

Oh I see! It happens to me but not with l;anguages only but with all the things that surround me: photography, painting, dancing, hand-made, music, literature, writing poetry etc. Too little of me for such a big world

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

bensalamin In reply to MariaForHisGlory [2011-04-07 10:51:03 +0000 UTC]

yup it's truth.. apparently of me too.
