Kirkjufell (the mountain) and Kirkjufellfoss (the waterfalls), Iceland

From Grundarfjordur the picturesque mountain Kirkjufell rises a mere 463m and is known as the Church mountain for its shape. I like this view better though (it doesn't look so pointy from other angles) and these little falls added to the unique landscape.

We used the mountain to gauge the weather in the two days we stayed in Grundarfjordur - if we couldn't see the top of it, we wouldn't head out; most of the time that meant rain and visibility wasn't good for the other mountains in the area. The theory seemed to work quite well! Lovely HI hostel in this town too.
