Description and the one thing I wish you could hear right now
is I miss you
so I send it through the summer night air
hoping it resounds on crashes of waves against rocks

in this awkward dim twilight
we dance on the earth to the rhythm of the days
you say forgive, you say forget
but the beauty of the world is lost to your ignorance,
your blatant denial

and all I wanted to do was to say goodbye
    for you are long gone
I savor your memory, splashed on the tongue with the slight taste of vanilla
to the mist in my eyes, I add with the absence of the sun
looking out on the crashing, tossing, restless sea
  I see my emotions reflected

destroy, demolish, build, construct
what we do to kill our mother, the first one we ever had
pinpoints of light in the chasm
to drag us back to our senses,
stubborn and not paying any attention
as one more bright light burns out into the void
