Jane, done as per my post earlier today. She cleans up real nice, don't she?Oh, and in case her hair looks weird--this is actually the second time I've bothered to draw Jane's hair correctly. The other 2342324 times I've drawn her, I haven't bothered and just gave her poofy shoujo hair. Seriously. Go look!

Yeah! Her hair style was actually based off of Faye Valentine's from Cowboy Bebop. I tried to draw it on the very first page of our audition...and after that, I was done. Puffy shoujo hair for the win!
I know, right? I honestly think she's prettier this way than in Fakeuchi style.

I love, love, LOVE how you drew her hair, and I love the really stylized look of her upper-body, detailedless except for he one collarbone. And the eyes are just striking, my oh my <3

Oh good! I am so excited I've gotten so much positive feedback on this style! I was really expecting people to get upset that it's not in Fakeuchi style.
I always imagined that Jane would have really, really amazing eyes, perhaps to comphensate for not being a sugarcoated pretty sparkly magical girl.

She looks really nice. I'm really enjoying the new style. It's nice to be able to mimic another style you love, but there's just something great about seeing your individual thing develop.
And her hair... OMG Jane's hair!! Why is it the simplest, yet hardest style in all of SMOCT!?
I've been giving her the fluffy bob from the start since I can't do it correctly.

Thanks! I'm really enjoying drawing like this right now, because it presents a challenge. I really have to THINK about how things look versus just drawing symbols for eyes, nose, mouth, etc, over and over. And people look like INDIVIDUALS. What IS THIS MADNESS?

Yes! Individual people! I tried to make my Psyche comics more like that, but it quickly devolved into systematic anime faces because of the speed I was working at.
I think kenna must have put a curse on that hair-do! Srsly... No problem with long, messy, short, odango hair... but that one style eludes me!

oh, sweet! you know, i've always wanted to get my haircut something like that but never had the guts to do it (my hair is really long... it's like a security blanket!), so i bet it looks AWESOME.

yeah i've had long hair for 4 years before now, and it was part of my process of getting my life in order and changing myself.
Just think how long you spend drying your hair after a shower... then subtract all that time

Oooh, right. I'm kind of lucky--my hair is very thin, so even though it's long it only takes about 10-15 minutes to dry with a hairdryer. Still, when you're heading out the door, those minutes can definitely add up...
