Another song-inspired drawing. Another Soviet poster. This time it really feels like I'm sharing a part of my culture with you!
The font in the back are lyrics by an awesome Soviet band called Kino. They were basically the first rockers in the Soviet Union! This song in particular reminds me of Mariya very badly. It's called Blood Type ("Группа Крови") and it's basically about pacifistic soldiers. You can google it and even listen to it if you're interested, I'm sure you'll find the translation! I don't feel like translating it at the moment because there are many untranslatable phrases, but if you ask me in the comments, then I'll try my best.
Mariya is a contract soldier. That means that her life is dedicated to war. And though she hates it, she still hadn't quit because it brings profit and she won't get used to anything else: she has always been fighting. She'd much rather live a normal life, she'd rather stay with her beloved ones and find a normal job, but she just can't. She has lost her place in the normal world. It's like she has once left her soul somewhere in the trenches, and will never go back to happy life. She wants to learn to love, but only hurts the one she loves the most.
Ah lineless artworks. Long time no see. But I thought it would work the best for the poster vibe. I had some references near me and it was all good

I can feel the poster vibe and i love how the red pops off Mariya. Now i can't translate the words in the background -v- even though i don't understand the words in the background it looks very kinda aesthetic for some reason. Anyway i love how you did this you did great!

Ah, thank you so much!! I don't know, Russian font always looks sort of aesthetic? It approximately says "there are things to pay with, but I don't want the victory at any cost. I don't want to put my foot on top of anyone's chest" and the rest says "I just wanna stay with you, just wanna stay with you, but the star up above calls me to go". This is basically so Mariya, I couldn't help but draw it!
