Description Oh boy, here we go.

Before I start, I have to indicate that i'm talking about the Zelda 25th Anniversary Edition of this game and not the original.

This is part of my favorite Zelda List, and Four Swords is number 14. This game ranks above Phantom Hourglass, Triforce Heroes, Skyward Sword, Minish Cap, and Wind Waker in my opinion. A lot of people disagree with this.

Personally, I don't rank games on fond memories at all. Wind Waker is the first game I ever beat and it still sits exactly where it is. My entire art style began with Wind Waker and my main characters are basically Rito. That, however, means nothing when it comes to how much I like these games.

For at least the lower end of the "Favorite Zelda Games" list, the reason games are ranked a certain way is based on whether or not I would play these games when given the opportunity. Phantom Hourglass is a guaranteed NO. Skyward Sword is a slightly less confident no. Minish Cap has a chance of a yes depending on how I feel. Wind Waker is a game I start playing, but I lost steam very quickly because of how binding the progression feels. Four Swords is the first game on the list where I can start the game and beat it without much hesitation. Granted, the other games I've yet to talk about actually have a direct desire to play rather than a lack of negative emotions, but that's why this game is number 14.

The reason that I have no direct desire to play this over other Zeldas is that, other than the original, this is the only game in the series to have no real story. There's a bad guy, use this mechanic to kill him.

However, this game has a mechanic that I seriously want to see return to a main series title. Two Links. When you play this game without any friends, you're given two Links you can switch between. while not as implemented as you might want, I really love doing this. I'm experimenting with this idea right now in my own game, as a matter of fact.

Combat is fun, the levels (Yes, there's levels and not an overworld) are well designed, and when you have friends like I did, the multiplayer is actually really fun.

Other than that, there isn't much to say. I wanted to talk about the way the internet use to act around this game, but I'll save that for Four Swords Adventures.

These versions of the Four Swords Links are based on the Japanese comic series. The Four Swords Adventures one will have the "Nin10doh" versions.

You know, back then I've always thought that red was the angry one, blue was the sad one, and purple was the smart one, with green as the leader. Never read the manga.
