Pheww, it's finally finished! My contest entry for 's contest! We had to draw her OC, Starlight!! Since she's a magical girl, I tried to give the drawing some perspective, as well as many lighting effects and magical stuff like that~ (ﾉ´ヮ´)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ so shiny~ ♫･*:. I hope you like it, dear~~I didn't know much about the character, so I hope I didn't make much nonsense haha.....ha....... orz

Wow, this is amazing! I just love the lightning, colors and perspective Out of curiousity, how did you make the big stars? Is it a custom brush? Anyway, so cuuuute!

Thank you!! I used a costum brush on Photoshop (you'll find many if you search for 'star brush' here on dA ^^ ) I then added a rainbow outer glow using Photoshop too!

this turned out truly magical! I love the light effects you used, they look really pretty and interesting. The light ring on her knees and the intricate shape underneath her feet are nice touches, they add up to the magic feel and it proves people that you really drew this character with some "love" instead of drawing just the minimal details, you got more into Starlight's universe than what it is already said about her ^^ to me that's the main difference between the good fanart and the AWESOME fanart!

Well, I started with a rough sketch I made during class lol that way I got a base idea of the pose and stuff
Then I copied what I'd done onto the computer and finished off the sketch. It took me about an hour or two
Then I had to lineart + colour it, which took me about two weeks because I procastinated a lot xD so it might've taken about 7 hours maybe?
Finally, I had to make the background, which took me about 3 more hours
So, it took me about 12 hours of work! Some stuff came in the middle too (like tests and friends' birthdays) so it took about a month to have it complete

I find it impossible to make a full cg in less than 1 hour or 2... Drawing takes practice, effort and time ^^ I'm sure you'll get used to spending more time perfecting your drawings!

AND all the shines too! You can never have too much shines or stars in a picture because I LOVE IT ALL!

Where do I start omg;; THANK YOU SO MUCH you have no idea what it means to me to read such words from you because I was so afraid that I could be risking too much in this drawing because I tried to make both perspective and a light source coming from the floor;; I was just afraid I wouldn't be able to make it hahaha;; but right now I'm so grateful I did it and that you enjoyed it! And since I'm not familiar with the character I thought the pose or the effects would be kinda off with her personality;; But I'm so glad it looks okay for you! You have no idea!!
