Incidentally, "Finck" is my grandfather's last name and mother's maiden name. "Finck," too. I never heard of this guy. Usually you see that as "Fink," which is what caught my attention. Kind of like how I get giddy when I see someone's name spelled "Erik" instead of "Eric." Kind of. I like "Erik" much better than Finck. *shudder*

I doubt it, but you never know. I looked this guy up and the region seems way off (Oregon). He also seems Greek, judging by "Theophilus" and that he studied Greek. What is interesting, though, is my grandfather's brother is Ted, or Theodore Finck. Also on that Finck side was the name Heinrich, which was changed to Henry. I also have a cousin in St. Louis, but that was after the fact.
