Description As a pagan, I have a particular devotion to the Vanir Golden God, Ingvi-Frey. This piece took a long time from conception to creation, and it's one of my favorites now.

A pair with his sister, Freyja in her falcon cloak.

Thanks! I have a particular devotion to Freyr, and this is a piece I have on my altar for him, so I'm always glad when people like this one!

You put him in an Ing rune/amber - that´s nifty! Love the picture.

P.S. Hi Raven, nice to see you here too

I'm so thrilled that you caught that detail! Thanks again for the kind words.

Actually, clicking through to your DA profile and then site has educated me a little -- I've been unknowingly a fan of your poetry for quite some time after reading various pieces in devotionals over the years!

Wow, small Midgard, isn´t it ?
Thank you a lot - I´m happy you like my poetry !

I would just love to embed your Freya and Frey pictures next to poetry on Odin´s Gift, provided that is allright with you?

Very small, especially for our sort!

And I would absolutely love for you to do that, especially if you don't mind linking them to the originals...?

That´s very true .

Thank you for your kind permission, and yes, of course!

Conveniently, the embedding code already does that - it provides all images with a neutral frame which states the artist's name, which also is a link to their profile, and the same is done once more directly below the frame. In fact the code retrieves the image from your gallery as a kind of feed, and does not upload the file to my site. I think that´s nifty for artists and "users" alike .

Hmm I could very well imagine your art as the cover artwork for some future devotional!

Oh, how fabulous :woot!: Save reuploading and all that. Lovely!

As far as devotionals go... well, that's why Frigga's on my to-do list. I'm in the compiling stages with a co-author of putting a volume together for her... and I plan on putting out a call for submissions for a Freya devotional by the end of next week. My beloved Frey has been getting some wonderful attention of late, but his sister deserves some love, too!

Wow, that´s great! A Frigga AND a Freya devotional in the works! You sure do keep busy. I´d love to contribute, and I can post your call for submissions to Odin´s Gift (and forward it on a few lists if you like). Do let me know when the time comes.

I've spent a great many years being a very quiet, supportive background player and dealing with mundane world issues. Freyja has decided that the time for me sitting on my hands is basically over and has lit something of a fire under my backside. So yes, I would be very, very grateful for the contributions and a hand in getting the word out to people! You're very kind!

Ah, when the Gods start taking an "interest" in us... you have my sympathies *g*!
I wish you a fire-proof set of trousers, and good stamina for the tasks ahead!

And I hope it´s not presumptous of me to add a thought from hard experience, the Gods want us to burn for them ,
but not necessarily to burn out !

Oh yes, it's super-fun to go from garden-variety heathen witch (admittedly, doing some of Frigga's Work, but She was always more low-key with me than Freyja's being) to having a divine to-do list... but I seem to be lucky enough to be beginning to find people who can empathize, at least. I appreciate the thoughts -- and our ongoing conversations in general!

Yes, I too am enjoying our exchange of thoughts very much! It´s great to find other spiritual people.

For me, the Gods are at the center of our faith; the other trappings (history, culture) are quite secondary in comparison. Many American heathens seem to prioritize the latter, up to and including there being 'atheist heathens', which concept doesn´t seem to make much sense to me. But fortunately there are also those like Galina & co., and it finally seems the 'spiritual' heathens are growing in numbers, or at least, gathering and becoming more visible.

So you live in Ireland? If you are Irish then you´re the first Irish heathen I´ve met . I´m a native to Germany. We should be in the same time zone then .

You've had me absolutely boggling at the idea of 'atheist heathens', but apparently Talas has encountered them, too. I suppose there's room for all kinds, as my grandmother would have said...!

Yes, I'm in Ireland and yes, I am, technically, Irish -- it's quite a long story. I was raised in England until my very early teens and then spent my teens to mid-twenties in Canada and the US. Talas is American. Living in Ireland, I'm quite aware of how Irish and how /not/ Irish I am. One of my teachers here is a very Irish Morriganswoman, for example...

Germany, hm? Quite close then! If we ever end up in the same place at the same time, we should try to say hello to one another!

Wow, you´ve seen quite a bit of the English-speaking world, then! I´ve only been to European countries on holidays in my earlier years, or to meet other heathens in the last years, but I´ve never actually lived outside of Germany.

Definitely - If you ever pass Frankfurt, by airport or otherwise, you´re cordially invited to come visit us, or we´ll come to the airport for a coffee in between flights. Michael and I have grown rather travel-lazy, but should we head up North we´ll be thinking of you .
The Denish heathen organization "Forn Sidr" has their annual althing in May, and from our experience it is a nice place for meeting the odd heathen from Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Netherlands, or Germany. We might be persuaded to go there again *g*.

Do you have any local/regional/Irish co-heathens you have significant contact or cooperation with? How "present" is heathenry in your country? I know of a few British heathens, mostly in London, through my membership in the Troth (but haven´t had much exchange with them yet).

This is beautiful. My partner is a Freysman, and I'll be sure to show it to him. Love the amber, that's a good idea.

(The online Frey shrine he put up, BTW: [link] )

The Freya falcon picture is pretty awesome as well. Good work!

Thank you very much for the kind words -- and I already have the shrine bookmarked and a copy of "Honey, Grain and Gold", in fact, in ebook format is actually open on my computer as I type this message.

My husband and I have gotten a great deal out of your writings over the years, so I'm truly glad that you liked my work as well!
