Description One of my faves from this trip to Arthurs Pass. This was actually taken before Avalanche Falls 1 and Avalanche Falls 2 and further down stream. I was maybe 50m past the main fall in this shot for the other two.
This was actually taken from in the water (standing on rocks) under a stone bridge. There is a viewing platform to the right of the main little fall here that you could view the main fall in the other two shots from.
This was 3 images stitched together and I used my new CPL once again to take away reflections. I like how you can see to the bottom of the deep pool!

Another awesome one bro, I've gotta start doing image stitches aye, how big do you recon you could print this? Do you use one of those tripods that attaches to the lens rather than the body so you get less distortion or just a normal tripod?

Nah just a normal tripod. If you think this is 3 landscape shots ontop of each other, so maybe 2 1/2 times the size of a normal portrait shot. It has a huge amount of detail at 100%

Ah yeah, there isn't much distortion aye, I wanted to do some panos with my telephot but thought that the distortion would be insane unless I used a lens tripod, any ideas on this?

When I went to Craig Potton's gallery he had massive prints on the walls that were really impressive and he was charging insane prices but I was thinking how awesome it would be to see my photos that big but they aren't big enough unless I start doing stitches. Do you use photomerge in PS or PTGui pro?

why not just get one of those lens tripod mounts? I think it could be different for some lenses? Not sure tho... I just want a proper pano tripod head! They are dope!
I use PTGui Pro... I have used photomerge until I found the difference in PTGui! Hugin is just as good as PTGui Pro too!

Very Nice! I see that the Polarizer did a superb job of filtering out the reflections!
I love the fact that you can see such detail through the water and into the bottom!

Of the avalanche falls pictures, i think i like this one most of the three. For me speaking, the larger displayed water brings some peace to the image. And i like how the long shutter time effected the water, it almost looks like electricity moving through the water.
