EDIT: I re edited the file for the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photographers Iris Awards... its sorta the national photo competition. Anyway, I brought the green, red and blue lights out from the duotone effect and cleaned up the treatments slightly. I wouldn't have entered this as I dont think its photography, It's image manipulation IMO but my tutor said they love this kind of stuff and I took the smoke shots so its all image taking.
Anyway, I got a score of 80% which is a silver award! Im quite happy with that result!

I also entered Monro Splash which also won a silver award with 81%

This is the first of a couple of photo-manipulations I am doing from the photoshoot I did of my friend Tawhai (DJ Gommorah). He needed some promotional shots for PHAT where he is playing at 1am new years morning - this is one of the best spots for an NZ artist at one of the biggest dance festivals of the year in NZ.
I shot this in the studio at tech - single light with a snoot. Long exposures allowed the ambient light to come through to make the deck lights pop. It also gave some cool movement blurs behind the figure frozen by the flash.
I used my own smoke stock and a few splatter brushes.
