I thought folks might enjoy seeing a small sample of dialogue writing--and rewriting--from Miki Falls. As is often the case, you'll see that there are even a few more changes between the rewritten dialogue and what ended up in the final book.Often changes are made at the request of the editor, but in this case all the changes were my own: I guess I was trying to get all the humor I could out of this cheerful truck driver's one-and-only appearance in the series...

I really like the newspaper comic -style quality your manga, at least in this case has. It's really unique and lovely, it kind of brings feelings of nostalgia, like this is what happened long ago, and one of those three are remembering it, or something.

Not really sure it worked? Um I got it right away. I think the light on the windshield look is about as perfect as it'll get for your art style & this is one panel I really like more than some others in Winter. This is just one of the panels that I can appreciate more than others for the artistic value.

THe dialogue sounds like how people talk in those movies especially the middle aged man in the middle...

Nice, Miki's chin doesn't bother me anymore. You did a great job on the driver, and the dialogue is, now that you actually bring it out, fluent.

it's a great idea for you to bring him out! it gives you a nice feeling reading about a character like that, especially with everything else that must be going on in the book, if you know what i mean

Seeing the process, especially at the speed you preformed it makes it all the more amazing to me.
I'm not entirely sure on the intended setting of the truck to critique the light reflection-- if they're on an open road that lacks trees, the way you did it makes sense. If the road has a dense tree-line, around the top and to the far left dark spots suggesting treeish shapes may have added more of a dimension? I don't know how good this would actually look, I'm just trying to recall all those car commercials with the fancy cars driving on the mountain trails and through the whimsical meadows.
What you've done gets your point across, and helps to illustrate the scene rather than just framing the frame with car parts and saying, "HI THIS IS CAR PLZ U CN PRETUND RYT?"
The windshield isn't what my eye at least is drawn to anyway-- my eyes start at the gap in the drivers teeth, his balding head and his fuzzy dice, which gives him a kind of dorky voice in my head.

aaww... The light in the windshield works fine I think... althought maybe (just maybe) could have used just a bit more reflection... but I dont know if that would have taken away from the characters
I love it! I'm happy to see what work goes on with the text... always wondered how comic artist would do this
