"It took only a few months for the Black Smoke to infect humanity and destroy our way of life. The disease took more lives than all the great wars combined, It emptied towns and turned entire counties to waste. If that wasn't bad enough, -they- came to earth. Giant fighting machines soaring down from the heavens, bringing death and destruction to all those who hid from the Black Smoke."

This image is part of my redesign of The War of the Worlds, set in an alternative 1950, 8 years after Martians succesfully conquered the Earth.
