If you are going to try and sell this poster you should at least credit Olly Moss.

I should do that why?

Because it's the respectful thing to do when you copy someones art. I was being nice in my first comment but if you are going to be smart about it, then fine. Olly Moss already caught the cover artist of Borderlands 2 stealing his art and confronted him. If you want to claim to be a designer give credit when credit is due or no one will take you seriously.

Show me the piece I copied. Only thing I've seen of Moss is his star wars posters. I didn't realize he owned the market of putting things inside silhouettes. Then again, I'm pretty sure I saw Saul Bass doing that decades before.

I'm going to rereply to your "I should do that why?" post and it will relate to your newest post.

I think you should credit Olly Moss because of the direct influence that is obvious with this design. It's clear that you designed this after seeing his piece and as a artist I think we are all inspired by one another and when someone does their own take on someone else art I think credit is due. It is a way of giving the original artist credit for the idea of layout and execution. The reason I know it's inspired by the Star Wars pieces that you knew I was referring to without mentioning is the distressed edges on the top, the addition of the sun in the design and the way the silhouette is of the hero which is a canvas for the containing scene. The background color is EXACT in the sense that it looks like you eye dropped the color from Olly Moss original poster. Further more why I made this speculation was your Batman design you also posted, that also takes after Olly Moss's design in the sense that the bat logo is the eyes.

I don't care if you took inspiration from such a well known and talented artist and I think we should all take in inspiration. But I replied the way I did because of the way you respond knowing what I was talking about. The only reason I think you should credit is because you said the poster is for sale and if you are going to sell a design you should credit who came up with the original design and regardless of what you think that Star Wars poster is a particular design that you designed from. I hope that explains my thought process in a respectful tone.

If you look on my profile, you will see that my favorite visual artist is Saul Bass. From what I have seen of Moss's work, he must be a great admirer of Saul Bass as well. I think it is fair to say that both of us draw from that same inspiration. I doubt you go around hounding him to credit Bass on all his pieces, do you?

I'm not going to credit Mr. Moss. I didn't copy anything. This is an original design. Your opinion is your own, and because I respect that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I'm not going to attempt to change your mind.

If Mr. Moss has issue with me, I will happily hear his complaint, but you do not represent Mr. Moss. If you really believe I have done harm to Mr. Moss or his intellectual property, then forward the piece to him.

He might be talking about this one, but I'm not positive. [link]

If that's it, then I don't see any similarities, other than putting a scene inside a silhouette. I doubt that I'll be hearing from Moss, but if he wants to make his case, I'd happily hear him out.

I looked up the case regarding Borderlands 2. That was way different. They ripped off his clouds. I don't see that in my Superman.

Copy "A thing made to be similar or identical to another."

In the case of your poster being similar and taking inspiration from another.

Stealing "Take (another person's property) without permission or legal right and without intending to return it:"

In the case of Borderlands 2. I never called you a thief but I did say you copied.

Obviously you know what these words mean but misunderstand the way I was using them. I don't see you as an art theif. You are creative and have talent but that creativity is fed on the art from designers before us and we should respect that, not ignore it.
