This is a very neat photo, it makes me feel like I'm on a deserted island just relaxing! The black and white fits nicely, and the palm tree has this almost magical look to it. The way the light hits the leaves and the way they create shadows is just fascinating, and I like that the tree itself is slightly off-center. It's quite interesting, I'd love to see more palm tree photos!

I do, however, feel that the leaves in the foreground are rather distracting. They aren't particularly in-focus, and the lighting makes them look just sort of like little blurry...blobs, for lack of a more technical term. I do like the idea of showing several different plants in the photo- makes it more original than just a photo of a palm tree- but I feel like my eye is wandering a bit, there needs to be more of a focal point. Perhaps taking it from a different angle (higher, lower?) would fix this? It just looks as if the plants don't quite belong, I think you need to show either more of them, or maybe put them off to the side more? I want to see more of the tree, and the leaves just seem to take away from that. I'm really curious as to how a photo of just the palm tree would look, as the lighting and scenery are just absolutely gorgeous. All just personal opinions, of course..but I just don't feel that the plant adds much to the photo.

Overall, excellent work. Keep it up. I love beach photos, and this one has a really great feel to it overall. Excellent!
