Is it difficult to photograph forests and streams in a country as dry as Australia?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MarkLucey In reply to Blitztrika [2012-07-11 23:09:04 +0000 UTC]

That's an interesting observation, it's really only dry in the interior, all the coast and the coastal ranges we get plenty of rainfall. With any stream or waterfall its all about the light. This image in particular was difficult as it was shot in the middle of the day, where I'd normally shoot either dawn or dusk.

Blitztrika In reply to MarkLucey [2012-07-11 23:55:43 +0000 UTC]

Oh, silly me, Australia has rainforests and I completely forgot.

Well, would you say it's preferable to shoot during midday or early evening?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MarkLucey In reply to Blitztrika [2012-07-11 23:59:36 +0000 UTC]

Dwan or dusk, the light in the middle of the day is too harsh. The exceptions being if its an heavily overcast day or there is plenty of tree cover to block the light.

In all parts of Australia or just the interior? Because over here in Mexico either it's pouring rain and absolutely overcast with savage winds or you're baking in 40ΒΊC temperatures and unrelenting sunlight

MarkLucey In reply to Blitztrika [2012-07-12 03:27:10 +0000 UTC]

It a big country, and has various weather patterns depending on where you live.

Blitztrika In reply to MarkLucey [2012-07-12 05:09:48 +0000 UTC]

I like how diverse Australia is. And you can't find kangaroos and echidnas in any other place in the world. That in itself is pretty amazing.
