Lunging forward,
I left my heart back at start.

You are pulling me, as my limbs retract,
I can’t go any further,
My body may collapse.

Dates and times flit through my head,
Shooting stars of extraneous data.

I want to constrict and hide into myself,
Inverted bone and skin,
Entangled with emotion and feelings,
All hidden within.

Your voice is an endless drone of monotony,
I lose myself in its predictable rhythm,
For a moment this is dying,
Where every sound will cease,
And flutter,
my heart has withered away its last beat.

With a tap on the shoulder,
I am thrust back to life,
And I feel my body shake as it buckles from strain.
You just push me forward, shaking your head,
You make me so weak, I wish I were dead.
