Alright I admit it, I’m irritated.
Confused.
I just don’t get it.
Misleading,
Leading me on and on,
Or maybe it was just my imagination.
I thought too hard about this,
Dug to deep,
Analyzed it all, searching for clues.
That glance,
The smile,
the things that you said.
I searched for the lines,
And in between I read.
I don’t under stand why I begin to quake.
I guess I am scared,
I’ve made a mistake.
Setting myself up for disappointment again,
Reassuring myself, “at least we’ll be friends.”
But I don’t think that could ever be,
I see it now, you don’t want me.
I tried to talk, not to be shy, I took some chances,
I thought maybe this time it would work out.
But it didn’t.
For a while I thought maybe we had a chance,
I don’t know,
I was probably always wrong.
I just thought,
Maybe.
In hindsight, it was all so ridiculous.
Just thinking about it makes me a bit woozy.
I can’t believe I’ve fulfilled the role of the fool again.
I’m tired of this.
I wanted to be love, but I’m beginning to think that love isn’t worth it at all.
I don’t want to try anymore, to make myself loved.
I’m tired of selling myself,
Just take me in pure form.
Everyone is so superficial,
Even those who claim not to be.
They are all looking for exactly the same thing, and no one is ever satisfied.
I’m tired,
And all hope has died.
