Description HULK HOGAN (7x9”) Brush, nib & ink and water color on 2-ply bristol. Have been really into old Mad Magazine illustration lately, so I wanted to try my hand at coloring with traditional media. I haven't done it for nearly five years (my graphic novel Closing Doors was done on illustration board and colored with watercolor. I really like the look, but there is always that chance of screwing it up. For more info: [link]

YES!! hahaha. Wow man, really working that water color well. Digging the look & texture where you put the shadows.

"Now what'cha gonna do, when Mark Rudolph's water colors run wild on you!!?"

Uh...couldn't help it.

I really like working all analog. There is something really satisfying about having it all done on the page. Thanks!

That's just a straight scan, I didn't balance it at all. Since I'm not that experienced with watercolor, I play to my strengths and keep it simple and subtle. I'm taking a cue from how Joe Kubert colors his own stuff. keep the boldness from your line value, and use color as accent.
