Description This scene is showing Sonic Jr and T-boy attempting to restore poison mushroom zone back to its fresh state.
For the last time, Poison Mushroom Zone is the first zone in part 2 and the seventh zone overall lock on version. This area is a large forest riddled with purple poisonous lakes, there are also mushrooms that ooze poisonous powder scattered throughout the stage.
In the end of act , the reason background is a row of dead very dull green trees is actually, Dr Metalnik pumping poison into the grass and trees in order to poison Sonic jr and T-boy while in the forest. At the end of act 2 once they jump on the antenna, it will reveal Dr Metalnik, the poison will be removed from the plants and the grass and trees will be green and healthy again.

In terms of speed, this level is moderately fast paced, this is because the stage is full of S-curves with 3 S-curves in act 1 and 6 in act 2, the stage has plenty of slopes to keep the pace up, the platforming is usually standard paced. The stage is made fast with the use of springs to jump up to curved ceilings to extend momentum, there are also curved slopes to keep the player moving however, the platforming and switches make the stage a tad slower than it should be, Act 2 is slightly slower than act 1 because it has considerably more switches. This stage is a forest that Meheganie and her sisters will occasionally visit for exploration.

Difficulty:
Poison mushroom zone
is slightly different to other first stages, it is slightly more difficult because it has some tricky traps like poisonous pits which will normally be involved in latter stages, Poison mushrooms which can be difficult to bounce on because of the poison powder. It's harder than Bridge zone not because it is larger but because the level has a higher skill floor and platforming also requires more skill to pass. The stage is slightly faster paced than bridge zone because slopes have steeper inclines on average and there is less platforming to do, It's harder than Bridge Zone and the same difficulty level as adventure wood Zone with a difficulty level of 2, Poison mushroom zone has slightly more dangerous traps than adventure wood but lacks a bottomless pit  and the stage isn't focused on trying to crush you, it puts emphasis on poison.
Act 2 is also slightly more difficult than act 1 because it has more difficult platforming and more traps. The poison part of act 2 puts more emphasis on poison than the semi-poisonous half, making it the most difficult part of Poison mushroom zone.
Poison mushroom zone may be challenging and harder than most first levels but guess what, Poison mushroom zone is the easiest zone in part 2, it is the first level after all.

Difficulty level 2
