Description Supposedly, it takes about one million years for a glass bottle to decompose in a landfill.

I tend to believe that whomever figured that out is probably very smart. She/he probably also knew that scientifically, we can't know exactly how long it really takes.
It's just one of those things, that if you're wrong, nobody's going to care....'cause ...you know...what's a few hundred thousand years between friends.

Kind of reminds me of the proposition that the blue whale is the largest creature ever to live on the earth.
Why would anyone ever say that?
We don't know jack.
The largest creature ever recorded maybe. We can only see so much...but because it's all we know....doesn't make it an absolute.
There are still untold, unsettled, baffling mysteries out there, and as smart as we are, we'll never know it all. And that is a beautiful thing.
Here's to what little we really know!
 Cheers!

Our supermarkets (the caring people that they are) have done away with plastic bags to save the planet of course.
Those bags were biodegradable by the way. Also, people repurposed them in many other ways, mostly as bin liners.
Now we have to buy bin liners, and the supermarkets now sell heavy duty plastic bags that are not biodegradable.

And the government bottle return scam is another story that is so inconveniencing everyone, we just take it you know?

Yup...same here. "Banned" free grocery bags yet you can buy one if you need one and they are much more substantial....someone is making bank on that.
