Thank you for this beautiful image!
It came just as the Perseid Meteor shower passed its peak.
Sometimes we're so caught up with life that we tend to miss nature's wonders...I hope more people start to appreciate night sky like you did.

Our sky gives us a proper perspective, doesn't it?
Thank you for your time and comment

beautiful image and great words, Mark.
we lived in a place with a dark sky for ten years, to walk out at night and see meteors any given night, and the milky way, was amazing.
I grew up in a place like that, actually, but then there was a long time in or near cities. which is where I am back to now. glad to be here. but I know about those skies.

there is a thought rumbling through philosophical circles that postulates that we are actually living in a simulation...(another version of theism without a supreme deity)....
Looking at the milky way makes us go there.....when we have the time.

I've seen that written up here and there... looking deep into the sky somehow fits with it.

thank you Hanan...interesting to me is the woman's voice for the moon in my head while I mused this out...
I don't think I've ever given the moon a voice before, but was always under the impression that is was a "man-in-the-moon"...

maybe it's the tender tone in which it adresses the star?
maybe you were influenced by other languages? in french and italian it's feminine. la luna...
in arabic though it's a boy, and the sun is a girl
