Description We get up before the sunrise to build stuff.
Coffee and cigarette aromas waft among the personnel as the day's goals are set.
Diesel engines rumble, warming before a day of loading and shipping to job sites.

We install skins on buildings so you and I can work, live, sleep comfortably inside.
Most folks will never know or see the sweat of engineering, plans and execution of an installation...and that's just fine.
Just remember the next time you visit someone as you look out the window....there were many hands and minds set on putting that together.

Our company: www.towerglass.com/

I find it unfortunate that our nation's youth lacks the confidence it takes to take on such work.
It takes more than brute strength, and for some reason, many of our youth lack the wherewithal to accept the challenge.
Apprentices across the nation are needed right now in most all of the trades. It's a worker's market, and many are missing out on a good living wage.

Great image and also great to see your company's site and read your thoughts. I wonder what is up with young people not going into the trades. It's work that can't be offshored.

A couple of years ago it was welders...and now we are feeling it too.
Some of it has to do with the great recession, but even though "old standbys" are returning, we are not finding much interest with startups.
Just not sure whether these vocations are offered as in days of old...."metal, wood, electric" shop classes used to be mandatory.

We are strictly a union shop that affords solid health and welfare benefits, and pension plans.
Our shop foreman is very involved with the union and HS level informational workshops to inform young prospects. He is optimistic...it will just take some time.

That's good to hear. A lot of "right to work" states these days... a nice-sounding phrase but a different reality.

Different indeed. I recently heard a republican candidate (here) complaining about the "inflated costs" associated with using union labor...all the while ignoring much of the basic bureaucratic issues that truly inflate the construction process.
Thankfully, he lost his bid.

The Republicans have their targets and use their "alternate facts" to go after them.
Glad he lost. It's the reality-based community for me.
