She’s able to put forward a convincing argument as to why the decision should be made, not just tell people that it was ‘gut instinct’.

-Increased correct decision-making power♣I Heard That- Miranda has developed an owl’s standard of hearing. She can acutely hear small rodents scurrying through undergrowth at a maximum distance of 150 feet away.Blessing 1: She is given a key to her book which contains an additional symbol to weave, that gives the wearer a large boost of confidence for 120 minutes.

Blessing 2: She has been given an enhancement to her shield. 4 shields will hover for 30 minutes and block strikes coming toward her with a downtime of 60 minutes.

Personality: In a way, it’s hard to describe Miranda as having a personality. She’s so enwrapped in the terror that her step-mother wove over her, that all she desperately wants is to not be hit. Because of this, she behaves in a very meek, mild and soft spoken manner. Whilst she has a burning curiosity to know more about, well, everything, it’s been tempered down behind self-depricating and second-guessing behaviour. Her passion in life is the works of Shakespeare, and she wants to have a completed collection of his plays, rather than just a few battered copies that have been well loved.

Miranda is a girl that hates seeing other people alone, or sad, or in any way suffering in the manner that she has suffered in. To that end, she tries to help in an awkward, as-little-touching-as-possible manner. She is very much concerned about the state of mind of the other campers- However, her own self-worth is low enough that she does not view herself as important enough to take care of, and will often find it shocking when other people enquire about her.
Deadly Flaw: Confidence – Miranda second-guesses any decision she makes; in fact, it’s tricky to get her to make a decision in the first place. Because of her fear of punishment for doing things wrong, she’ll often try to stay out of being involved in things that require decisions, although her instincts (thanks to her mother) are so often good.
Background: When Miranda’s father came home from the library with a baby, Mary, his wife, was understandable shocked. To think that her husband had cheated on her, despite his claims that he never had sex with this adultress. It drove her to drink- Not literally of course. What it did do though was ostracise Miranda from her four half-siblings, and her step-mother. Initially as a child, it just resulted in her being largely ignored. She learnt to entertain herself with books instead, though those often went mysteriously missing. However, when Miranda was three and her father passed away in an unfortunate car accident, the emotional abuse was increased beyond anything she expected. Miranda was called hateful names by her siblings and her step-mother for longer than she’s care to remember, and when Miranda behaved in an inappropriate manner, she received a caning for her disobedience or devilish ways. These repeated canings could have been for anything from not washing the dishes well enough, to getting a good grade in school. It did not seem to matter what she did- she would be punished anyway.
She was shocked when, at 13, a Satyr happened upon her and extended an invitation to the Camp. Miranda was aware of who her mother really was, thanks to her step-mother’s taunts, but she never expected there to be a place, a safe haven for people like her. Mary was happy to see as little of Miranda as possible, and, provided she would never talk of her family, or the incidents that occurred behind closed doors, she was allowed to continue going to the camp.
Miranda is currently applying to stay at the camp full-time, in the hopes of pulling herself from the clutches of her step-mother.

Other Info:
- Due to a rather painful injury to the back of her knees, Miranda finds it difficult to run for extended periods of time without pain.
-She hates physical contact.
-Her deepest wish is to be able to overcome her stutter and perform Shakespeare to an audience, but she acknowledges that this will probably never happen.
-Her clothes are plain, ill-fitting and bland. Just the way she likes it.
-She hails from Dublin, so she has a Republic of Ireland accent that gets stronger in times of stress.
-Having been tasked to make food for the rest of her family so that Mary did not have to, her cooking skills are pretty darn good. She can follow a recipe like no-one's business.
