My version is this: Scar kills Mufasa and banishes/kills little Simba, just like in the first part. (Let's say Scar didn't get to kill them all together.)
And then, after a while, he comes up with a plan to kill Simba's brother (who I didn't come up with a name for, sorry XD).
But Mufasa's heir already suspected Scar of conspiracy (an invasion of hyenas in the Pride lands, as well as the disappearance of the lionesses). Anyway, he put together a confrontation and overthrew his uncle.
After which he learned from the hyenas that they had not killed his brother. And eeee... He went in search of him. Somehow)

Or, option two, the lionesses hid the only (as they thought) heir away from Scar. He grew up in another Pride in distant lands, after which he purely accidentally stumbled upon Simba. After which they teamed up with Nala and returned to the Pride rock.
