If you don't know MTMTE (More than Meets the Eye) it's a Transformers comic currently being published by IDW publishing and it is very very very good and you should check it out. It's currently on issue #20. These two are Chromedome and Rewind and they're conjunx endura (the Cybertronian equivalent of a married couple). They are very cute u____u

I'm not entirely sure, since it hasn't been mentioned in comic yet. But what we do know is:

 -Basically a bots conjunx endura is their significant other/spouse and is someone they love deeply. (Like soul mate/romantic love). 

-Finding your conjunx endura is rare/special 

-A bot can only have one conjunx endura 

-There are only pairs of conjunx endura's, (no threeseomes/whatever)

-A mech's conjunx endura is also there to make medical choice on behalf of their partner (for example if the mech is unconscious and a doctor needs ask the mech if they want to go under surgery or not, they will ask the mechs conjunx endura instead.) So it is something recognised by cybertronian law. 

-Some Transformers think close relationships like these are embarrassing.

-There's a popular theory that conjunx enduras where more common during pre-war times, but during war time it's dangerous to have such a close relationship.

-Some Cybertronians are more likely to "fall in love" than others

-(Not just a conjunx endura thing but) When a mech is injured their conjunx endura/close friends will offer up a small vial of "innermost energon" (the energon which surrrounds their spark and cannot be replaced) to the injured mech to put next to them during their recovery to show they care.

The writer of MTMTE introduced the concept, Chromedome and Rewind are the only pair we know about so far (and there's been a few hints of other bots having had a conjunx endura) but I think it's something that will be used again because the writer's like that heh

But you should totally read MTMTE! It's hilarious and funny and sad and one of the best comics I've ever read! And it's very pretty artwise and you can read it without reading any comics before it. As I said issue #20 came out last wednesday but the first four volumes (which collect all together #1-#16)

I take it you don't read MTMTE pfft but yes Rewind is the smaller one
