I honestly don't know how chess works, or what kind of player ciel would be and the most logical way he would lose according to his character, do I decided to choose a board where he would lose because of a king and a bishop, kinda like a play on him summoning a demon, and getting beat by the opposite force. I tried my best to make it look like the anime art style as much as possible, but since I haven't drawn anime in such a long time, its hard. However, I can see some of my old anime art style in this work and to be honest, it kinda makes me cringe. There are some days I regret giving up the anime art style, as it gave me a better sense of anatomy than I have now, but whatever.
