Description
The Narrim-Class was conceived by the Narn Military as an answer to the shift in Centauri doctrine toward rapid strikes and skirmisher maneuvers. While Narn Battleships could match older Centauri capital vessels in direct engagements, a new generation of Centauri designs opted for maneuverability rather than raw firepower and resilience. This put the heavier, slower Narn formations at risk of being outmaneuvered far too easily.
In response, the Narn introduced not only heavy fighters en-masse to protect their flanks, but also devised dedicated escort vessels such as the Narrim. These were dedicated capital-ship interceptors, fielding considerable forward firepower at relative short ranges. Capable of rapidly responding to any incoming threats, they were not only to deter enemy flanking maneuvers, but intended to deal critical damage to flanking vessels, keeping them busy long enough for the heavier ships to redeploy.

Like most smaller vessels of the Narn fleet, the majority of these vessels was either lost during the second Narn-Centauri War or scuttled following the Regime's surrender. During the Last Shadow War, heavy Narn Capital vessels which had managed to survive relied heavily on other alliance vessels to fill in the gap left in their fleet roster by the war.
