At the behest of Undrabel's system governor, the imperial garrison was mobilizing. Vessels on position across the inner worlds stood by, awaiting orders to move out and intercept the foe. The crews of patrol craft, watchtowers, and stations were gripped by anticipation. To many, this was to be the first real combat encounter of their assignment. They had seen the enemy only second hand in the recordings and reports issued by their superiors. This time, it was different – a mission to defend the system, not merely to demonstrate imperial power.
The officer cadre was vigilant. This operation would separate true loyalists of the Galactic Empire from nascent traitors.
