Description First, let's begin with this,

"[Jesus said,] I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live” -John 11:25

Happy (belated) Easter. :3

A VERY belated Easter, I know. I am aware moreover that I've drawn this character before.
Additionally, the Christian reader is not alone in their disappointment that I opted to draw an Easter bunny rather than (say) Jesus or some other symbol of Christian hope.
Hence I implore the clemency of my Christian watchers (all four of you!) to forgive both the lateness of my upload as well the subject matter thereof.

Fact is, it was far easier to draw an Easter bunny than (say) compose a thoughtful religious image---I'm not especially creative (as the usual subjects of One-Cent ACO may testify), and my heart (in some ways) is yet weened from the love of the world, esp. of its animated, furry offerings that (though they give play to the imagination) consistently prove frivolous and without (lasting) value.

TL;DR: Jesus saves and is risen ...so I've drawn an Easter bunny (mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa!)

Moving on...

Today's subject is the Easter bunny from 1994's 'Yogi the Easter Bear': a vapid and fatuous holiday special produced by Hanna-Barbera.

I loathed every moment spent enduring this special, esp. its obnoxious and braindead cast. The only likable character is Booboo---everyone else is either unbearable (ie, this special graces with with not one, but two lumbering doofus cliches) or written as an afterthought (ie, generic Rob Paulson plays generic Rob Paulson).

Or, if the reader prefers, a message of Christian hope (link tested 04/13/2023): www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oRT4E…

Anyway...

WATCHER: "How's your Easter? I have been enjoying myself!"

WATCHER2: "I hope things are better for you now"

I didn't do anything on Easter Day, save to create an ACO ...albeit the card met my despise and was destroyed before I could upload it.

That said, and in answer to the second watcher, I am able to bear all that I complain of (though not always with grace); I'm neither a threat to myself or to others.

I 'want' to be more than I am, but lack the faculties and vigor to achieve that---where there is neither ambition nor passion, there can be no greatness.

Perhaps that's I why I drew an Easter bunny rather than a symbol of hope and eternal life---the Easter bunny was easier, and I knew the rabbit would earn more temporal earthly praise than would a drawing of the empty tomb.

It's not the Lord who has failed, but I who has come short, yet again, by taking the easy secular path.

TL;DR: Not much; I'm ok (for now). :3

Pencil...

The featured pencil is the 'Polka Dot' from Eagle Pencil Co., chosen because its color/pattern is reminiscent of the Easter egg.

The 'Polka Dot' was patented in 1912, and this being a long-ferruled specimen, was probably made around that time.

That said, I'm unsure what about this pencil was patented ...and a perfunctory Google search revealed nothing useful (granted, I didn't do any deep dives---I just don't care right now), so the mystery will (for now) remain. :3
