Description Firstly Many thinks to Dalek200 for the use of his image. I would link it but i don't know how.

This is a photographic take on a pic I did back in high school of an wizard bringing forth blue flames.

The model was myself, not much to look at I know, but it's all I've got to work with.

Thank you I managed to get it by putting 3 80b and an 80a filters over one of my studio lights, then i used two desk lamps to catch out the gloves. Not an easy task.

Pretty cool. Might I suggest instead of locking your hands, try the dramatic grasping hand pose thing that people use sometimes. I don't really know the best words to use for what I'm trying to describe... I usually call it the "arthritis" pose because it looks dramatic.

I get what you mean. I've got some stock images here for that pose, just plain white gloves on black. Thank you for the surgestion, Next time i get the lights out i'll give that a go. At the time it was easyer for me to use the hand pose that I did, for lots of reasons, the self timer and with leaning over a very hot light.
Mind you taking photos of yourself is a good disaplin and patichance builder. If you like a challange it's well worth the effort unless you have someone else who's happy to sit in teh photos for you, in that case get them to pose for you. lol

Believe it or not I photograph myself sometimes for drawing reference and just to see how some different things look. I just have a crappy little sixty dollar digital camera with a ten second timer on it, but I do that sometimes. I even actually took a pic once kind of like your image. I may try to post it soon.
