[::: Character Experiment : Winter Girl :::]Hah, im the master of interesting names (ps, joke)
anyway! possibly the most boring pose ever, i just wanted to do a study of a fluffly rimmed hood TBH. I wasnt in the most adventurous of moods today.
took about an hour to do, maybe an hour and half (took ages to do the big patches of clothing)A4, uhm ... no eraser, no photoshoppery (other than the usual adjustments). thats about it! all comments appreciated and welcome

Hmmm... she looks really cute, and mysterious too, if I might add... wait... she reminds me a little of Violet from the recent Pixar "The Incredibles"... I really like this.

Believe it or not, but this was the first picture I ever saw here at dA then, instantly, I realised I was looking at the work of a master. Brilliant, stunning. Your art is everything I want mine to be

Really? That's sought of what I'm doing. But I also have to deflect the comments from jealous artists who are doing flowers and can't draw for shit. Woh! I'm ranting!
It gets quite tiresome when one or two blokes call my art 'stupid, japanese cartoons'! Bloody hell, my art is not anime! I get pretty insulted!
But most of the school like meh art, so thats cool.
How did you get away with just doing fanart? Did you get a good grade?

Well, i just took the characters and did them in my own pose. I said "its no different to taking a human and putting it in my own pose ... why cant i do it ... with a character?"
Art teachers have no concept of what "fanart" is XD And to be fair, neither did i at the time. Virtually no internet at all when i did mine, haha

It happened differently for me. Over the summer I started to develop my own style and I started drawing characters. Then I joined dA. Then I took my art book back to school and the head of art said I should produce a 'comic' of sorts.
Now, god I have soo much to do, I have to produce a large painting on a wall in school and do another large photoshop piece for house art.
All the teachers etc. are sooo interested in my work because I'm like the first person they've ever seen to use photoshop, create original characters etc. It's quite nice.
What about you? Were you pretty original at your school?
